Today, businesses are still trying to assess how they monetize social media and tie it to incremental revenues. This is like trying to assess the revenues you get from philanthropy. In the end, you really don't know what it was that drew the customer in, and frankly it could have been one or many different pulls. But if it's the right thing to do, you're supposed to do it. Eventually, the smart companies will realize that this is the way to do business and you either adapt or you fold. Based on this, one would expect yet another industrial revolution, due to the advancement of technology, in the next five years.

I will definitely be exploring this further,  it may have been the women of India who pointed this out - but the effects of pollution effect everyone.  If one of the tenets of the Scalisi line is to make taking care of your skin fast and simple - we might as well try and see if we can help take care of counteracting the effects of pollution.

The goal of the prelaunch is to get feedback.  We will give away thousands of samples for people to try and all we will ask for is feedback.  The bloggers and textbooks refer to it as innovating.  But for me it just makes logical sense, the customers should be the ones to tell you what they really like and want.

Being environmentally respectful is a responsibility we all share - I do it not because I have to but because it's the right thing to do. So you can imagine my dilemma in wanting luxury boxes but not at the expense of being irresponsible toward the environment.

The rest of the event was spectacular.  Linda Wells, Editor of Allure Magazine, presented the indy award to Livingproof (the wildly successful joint venture between a venture fund and an MIT professor that revolutionized the treatment of hair frizz).  And I now have a new goal, the independent beauty award.  It is years away, but there is nothing wrong with having high aspirations.

The people who have come into my life along this path of entrepreneurship have been nothing short of a miracle. How I found the lawyers and then the scientists were shocking to say the least.

As an entrepreneur you will inevitably hit some bumps, roadblocks and the occasional land mine. It just goes with the territory. I always try to find a lesson to learn in the hopes of avoiding a similar situation (mistake) down the line.

I needed a non-biased third party who could independently verify both the safety and effectiveness of the products and serve as an advisor going forward on product development, testing etc.

When I started this process, I knew I needed an attorney but had no idea where to start.  Through one contact I found exactly what I needed.

It may take a while to find your true passion - but once you find it - you know.  It's like falling in love minus the butterflies.

Soul searching at many stages ended in complete exasperation that I would never find my true passion.  But I was told – just keep digging – you will find it.

All you need is a Global Crisis to get you to do something.
