The Language of Eyebrows
Eyebrows have really become a focus in the beauty industry in the past year and it is with good reason. Your eyebrows frame your face and they can either make you look years younger or older if not done correctly. In addition to shaping, by filling in your brows, it can make you look at least 5 years younger. Getting and keeping your eyebrows in shape is similar to what we do with getting our bodies, it takes work, and everyone is different.
The struggle of getting that perfect shape is real. I remember the first time I got my eyebrows plucked; the pain (I still get tears when I get them done) was overcome with the happiness of getting that flawless shape.
The trend for brows has changed dramatically over the years; think of Brooke Shields' full brow of the 80's to the over plucked minimal brow of the 90's. Thankfully, I didn't really do my eyebrows when the minimal brow was in. I know a number of women who regret over tweezing as their brows never fully grew back.
Since eyebrows are one of the most prominent features on our faces, they can change our entire look if the shape is not right. For years, eyebrows have been under scrutiny. Every facial expression is incomplete if it doesn’t reach your eyebrows. Your eyebrows can do a lot more than just giving you a clean and refreshing look. Eyebrows talk and some believe they reveal secrets about your personality – yes, you heard that right!
If your eyebrows are curved, like Beyonce’s, then you can be categorised as a creative person; a person who can think outside the box and enjoys using their imagination. You also are a business savvy person and are a people’s person.
If you have straight eyebrows, you appear to be more masculine because they resonate a personality of being confident, intellectual and dominating.
Naturally bold eyebrows like that of Cara Delevinge also give out an image like that of straight eyebrows but with a touch of a rebellious personality.
Angled eyebrows, also known as Queen’s eyebrows, are a sign that you are a perfectionist. Like the high angle of their eyebrows, these people have high expectations from themselves and the people around them.
Thin eyebrows are very feminine and shows that you have a fragile and gentle personality.
With different eyebrow trends taking up the internet by storm (for e.g. braided eyebrows), you might want to take into consideration the language of your eyebrows before taking a huge step and reshaping them.
